Seering (Rogers), Barbara Carol
Barbara Carol Seering (Rogers), 81, a former Iowa City resident, passed away March 6, 2012, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Prescott, Ariz., with family at her bedside, after a long terminal illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Seering who passed away Aug. 23, 1983.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2730 Bradford Dr., Iowa City, Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.
Barbara was born Feb. 11, 1931, in Iowa City, to Lloyd and Ruth Rogers. She graduated from Iowa City High School, attended the Irish Business School in Iowa City, and in her later years worked for the family business, Rogers Shoe Repair.
She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Barbara will be deeply missed by one brother, John Rogers of Fort Collins, Colo.; eight children, Keith (Nancy) of Prescott, Ariz., Cynthia and Kevin (Admen) of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Kelvin (Ruby) of West Valley City, Utah, Kenneth (Cheryl) of Dewey, Ariz., Charlene Villas (Paublo) of Carson City, Nev., Kent of Phoenix, Ariz., and Korey (Charlene) of Casper, Wyo. 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Charles, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Norman, Robert, Keith and Kenneth.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
