O'Grady, Janet Rae
Janet Rae O'Grady, 58, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 4, 2012, at her home. A private memorial will be held at St. Mathew's Lutheran Church in Monticello. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Jan was born June 19, 1953, in Davenport, Iowa. She attended school in Cedar Rapids. She moved to southern California where she met her husband, Dick, and enjoyed a varied career in the professional field before moving back to Cedar Rapids to be near her family.
Jan's talents led her to many different artistic endeavors which she loved very much. Her beauty was unsurpassed and she had an amazing amount of love to give. Though her sweet soul is still with us, she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her mother, Marge Freeman; three siblings, Joan Berends, Bill Karr and Lisa Primer; two sons, Brandon Kraus and Adam Kraus; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Kale, Shiloh, Stephanie, Caden, Justin, Otto and Collin; and four nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard O'Grady; father, Ray Dove; stepfather, William Freeman; uncle, Lyle Behrends; and an infant son, Michael.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to 1330 20th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
