Letter: Oscar’s manager went the extra mile

My heart sunk recently when I opened my billfold to use my debit card and noticed it was missing. I searched my car and home to no avail. Fortunately, there were no suspect debits from my account. As I looked over the places where I had used it, Oscar's Family Dining Restaurant in Hiawatha showed up. I quickly called to see if I had left it on the counter and, sure enough, Christina, the manager, told me she had it. I could pick it up anytime. What a relief!
When I told her I lived in Ankeny, Iowa, she said she'd send it to me, but then I remembered I would be in Iowa City the next day and I could swing up to Hiawatha to pick it up. 'Well,” she said, 'I'll meet you halfway at the Swisher exit and hand it over then.”
Wow, what service! I always enjoy stopping at Oscar's because of their friendly service and their delicious pancakes. There's no reason to apologize for being Iowa nice. Thanks, Christina, for going the extra mile.
