To the editor:
Leader. Reformer. Change agent. Problem solver. Hopeful. Optimistic.
These words have been used to describe presidential candidate and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. These words have behind them a record of accomplishment that indicates what Gov. Kasich will do as president.
As a member of Congress, he was the chief architect of a balanced federal budget. He's done it before; he has a plan to do it again.
As governor of Ohio, he turned an $8 billion deficit into a $2 billion surplus. He's done it in Ohio; he can do it for America.
Economic recovery in Ohio during Gov. Kasich's term has included more than 380,000 new jobs. He's created them in Ohio; he can create them for us.
During 18 years on the Armed Services Committee, Kasich saw the dangers that face our country and the decisions made to protect the United States. He understood complex foreign policy then; he will keep us safe now.
Gov. Kasich worked with people of different viewpoints in Congress and in Ohio to accomplish reform. He's done it throughout his life; with our help, he'll do it again. He is not afraid to tackle our toughest problems. We need a reformer with experience to grow our economy and create jobs. We need a partner to build up the greatest and least of us to reach our highest potential.
We need a leader who understands that America's best days are still ahead of us. We need Gov. Kasich.
