Memorial services for Ann Marie Kofron, 78, of Tipton, Iowa, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Ann passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, after a short illness.
In honoring Ann's final wishes, she was cremated and inurnment will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome,com.
Ann was born in Milwaukee, Wis., in 1939 to Marty and Rose Russo. In 1961, she was united in marriage to James H. Kofron and shortly thereafter they moved to West Branch, Iowa, and in 1973 moved to Tipton, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two boys, James and Steven. In addition to being a wife and mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Ann had a successful cake decorating business for many years. She also worked at the Tipton dairy and at a marketing research firm in Cedar Rapids. She was an artist, a Cub Scout leader and a generous and welcoming friend to everyone she met. Ann did volunteer work for a political organization as well as the local humane society for a number of years.
Surviving Ann are her children, James Kofron of Washington, Iowa, and Steven Paul Kofron of Tipton, Iowa; sisters, Pauline Berglund, of San Diego, Calif., and Mary Russo-Chadek of Sussex, Wis.; grandchildren, Gregory and Alyssa; as well as many friends and relatives in Iowa and Milwaukee.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends of the Animals Shelter in Tipton, Iowa, are appreciated.
