Gladys J. Wintringer, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday morning, Dec. 28, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are her children: son, Gary and his wife, Guillerma, and their son, John Paul; daughter, Bonnie Wintringer, and her daughters, Kim and Dreana; son, Loren and his wife, Laura, and their daughters, Lauren, Victoria, Jessica, Jasmine, Anna and Amanda, and son, Devin; son, Danny and his wife, Karen, and their daughter, Alexis, and son, Anthony; and daughter, Julie Fitzgerald and her husband, John, and their sons, Colton and Logan; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Peter, in 2010; two brothers, Lumir and Albert Medulan; and sister, Lucille Just.
Gladys Janet Medulan was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Godfrey and Eleanor (Drahos) Medulan. On April 8, 1950, she married Peter F. Wintringer in Cedar Rapids. Gladys was a homemaker and enjoyed watching/feeding birds, collecting dolls, watching Shirley Temple, making Hoska, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
