Robert "Bob" John Hildebrand, 85, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Manchester and Earlville, died Friday, June 12, 2015, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids.

He was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Dyersville, the son of Louis and Frances (Bergfeld) Hildebrand. Bob was raised in the Earlville area, and was a 1948 graduate of Earlville High School.

On Oct. 5, 1948, Bob was united in marriage to Wilma Budan at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville. Two daughters were blessed to this union. Together they farmed in rural Earlville. They moved from the farm to Manchester in 1985.

Bob served as a field man for Farm Service Agency. He also was a high school sports official for 50 years. Bob and Wilma have made their home in Cedar Rapids for the last five years.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife, Wilma, of Cedar Rapids; his two daughters, Deanna Hanson and Jayne Hildebrand, both of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Sharon (Francis) Fischer of Earlville.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents; a sister, Imogene McCallum; and a son-in-law, Terry Hanson.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester, by the Rev. Dennis Juhl. Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Manchester, with a 2 p.m. Scripture service, and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
