Property taxes due Sept. 30

The Linn County Treasurer's Office would like to inform residents the property tax statements for the assessment year of 2010 and mobile homes for 2011 will be mailed today, August 19. The first semiannual installment is due by September 30, 2011.
An increase or decrease in your annual taxes could be a result of a change to the assessed value to your home or land. Contact the Cedar Rapids City Assessor at (319) 286-5888 or the Linn County Assessor at (319) 892-5220 for questions regarding your assessed value.
To prevent waiting in line, the Treasurer's Office strongly suggests using the postal system to pay property taxes or to pay them online at www.iowataxandtags.gov.
