U. of Maryland's new president comes from the U. of Iowa, which makes Maryland's football coach happy

Everyone looks at things through their own narrow orb, I guess.
When the University of Maryland announced on Tuesday that it had hired University fo Iowa Provost Wallace D. Loh as its new president, Terrapins football coach Ralph Friedgen found a ray of sunshine in it for himself.
'I'm happy he comes from a school that has a good football tradition," Friedgen said in this discourse.com blog post. "I know (Iowa football coach) Kirk Ferentz pretty good. I'll have to give him a call and see what he thinks. It's obvious he's had experience with big-time athletics, and that's a positive from my standpoint. Just reading his resume, he's obviously a academician."
ESPN.com's Atlantic Coast Conference football blogger, Heather Dinich, had an interesting take in this post.
"If Iowa is the standard here," Dinich wrote, "Friedgen's in trouble."
Meaning, Maryland's got to raise its game a lot to get to where Iowa is in football.
