Taylor, Evelyn A.
Evelyn A. Taylor, 91, of The Meth-Wick Community, died there Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Private family services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Reid of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Larry (Arleen) Sievertsen of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Allen (Pam) Sievertsen of Walla Walla, Wash.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy; a son-in-law, John Reid; grandson, David Reid; and a stepson, Randy Taylor.
Evelyn was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Clarence, the daughter of Willard and Amelia (Heneke) Bradley. She married Carl Sievertsen and later divorced. She married Marvin W. “Mike” Taylor on Feb. 15, 1956, in Davenport. He died in 2004.
Evelyn worked at Killian's Department Store for several years and later became a full-time homemaker. She was a member of the Elks Club, A.B.W.A., and several local golf leagues. Evelyn enjoyed playing bridge, golf and especially the time she spent with her beloved family and friends.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Meth-Wick Community in Evelyn's name.
