Malloy, Donna M.
Donna M. Malloy, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Nov. 6, 2011, at Arbor Place at The Meth-Wick Community following an extended illness. There will be a service to remember Donna's life at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. A visitation is planned for 10:30 a.m. immediately before the service.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Laura) Malloy of Barrington, N.H., and Steven (Julie) Malloy of Lake Tapps, Wash.; a daughter, Julie (Jim) Oberweis of Sugar Grove, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Michael and Katie Wilkinson and Lenzi Malloy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; and a brother, Harlan Hamann.
Donna Mae Malloy was born May 8, 1925, in Keystone, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Balhorn) Hamann. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Business College in 1943. Donna Mae married William P. Malloy on Nov. 4, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. She worked along with her husband for 26 years at Malloy Jewelers and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Donna Mae particularly loved music, dancing, playing golf and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her name to St. Luke's Hospice or The Meth-Wick Community.
