Rauch, Jack D.
Jack D. Rauch, 82, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids, formerly of Blue Rapids, Kan., died at Meth-Wick on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, after a long illness. Per Jack's request there will be no service or visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, James of Cedar Rapids and Keith of White House, Tenn.; a sister, Carolyn Mitchell of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kirsten Gilbert, Megan, Ben, Joe and Peter Rauch; and two great-grandchildren, Layna and Noelle Gilbert.
Jack was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Girard, Kan., the son of Dewey and Edna (Wolber) Rauch. He graduated from Monette, Mo., High School and later attended Southwest Missouri State in 1951. He married JoAnn M. Zehr on Nov. 18, 1951, in Seneca, Mo. JoAnn died in 2011. Jack was the plant manager at Georgia-Pacific in Blue Rapids, Kan., for 34 years, retiring in 1993.
Jack was a member of the Scottish Rite, Society of American Magicians, a life member of the American Legion, adviser to the Order of DeMolay, the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and proudly served in the Air Force.
