Kimball, Virginia R.
Virginia R. Kimball, 88, of The Meth-Wick Community, died there Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Julie) of Roseville, Minn., Glenn (Jane) of Fairfax and James (Sandy) of Marion; three daughters, Teresa (Donald) Weaver of Cedar Rapids, Sheryl (Kurt) Alexander of Cedar Rapids and Sandra (Robert) Jones of Cedar Falls. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Robert Field; and a grandchild, Bret Weaver.
Virginia was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leonard and Ruth Overcash Field. She married Donald E. Kimball on May 7, 1943, in Cedar Rapids. Don passed away in 2001.
Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed music (playing her organ), crocheting, knitting, flowers and especially the time spent with friends and her beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the staffs at The Meth-Wick Community and Mercy Hospice, especially Jennifer, for the love and care given to Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to both The Meth-Wick Community Foundation and Mercy Hospice.
