Haughenbury, Lucille
Lucille Haughenbury, 97, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Anamosa Silvercrest. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, with visitation starting at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. There will be a luncheon after the service. Graveside services at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.
Her life started in the Dakotas on April 12, 1915. Lucille Jackson grew up in the Luzerne area. Lucille married Keith Haughenbury on Oct. 3, 1936, at the Little Brown Church, and they had one son, Don. She enjoyed being a farm wife, traveling and spending winters in Florida and summers in the Colorado Mountains. Lucille was known for her beautiful crocheting.
Lucille is survived by daughter-in-law, Deanna Haughenbury; granddaughters, Lori Haughenbury, Sindi (Mark) Melchert, Kristi Haughenbury (David Ross) and Staci (Kevin) Chada; great-grandchildren, Adam (Keely) Melchert, Malayne Melchert, Wayne Howe, Allison Wolff and Nic Snyder; sister-in-law, Marge Haughenbury; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; son, Don; parents, Clint and Anina Jackson; two brothers; two sisters; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
In lieu of flower, a memorial fund has been established.
