E. Lucille Zachmeyer, 98, of Marion, formerly of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Rockridge Care Center, Shellsburg. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, at First Presby-terian Church, Marion, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Howard Chapman. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Graveside service: 2 p.m., Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Gwen Leland of Cedar Rapids and Joyce (Robert) Domer of Vinton; five grandchildren, Scott (Kathy) Moffit, Jay Moffit, Jill (Greg) Moffit Williams, Cathy (Mike) Peters and Robin (Brandon) Dunbar; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alex, Spencer, Stacey, Jessica, Jamie, Chase and Cameron; and five great-great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leland and Norval; and a sister, Lois.
Lucille was born June 17, 1916, in Osceola, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Lula (McKnight) Acheson. She married Leland Watson on Oct. 10, 1936, in Burlington, Iowa. Leland passed away in 1938. Lucille married Norval Zachmeyer on Aug. 17, 1942, in Sarasota, Fla.
In her earlier years, Lucille was employed by the basket factory in Burlington. She later worked for Rockwell Collins and the Masonic Library.
Lucille enjoyed puzzles, cross stitch and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
