Stocker, Sidney Leland 'Bud'
Sidney Leland “Bud” Stocker, 68, formerly of 1610 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 15, 2009, at Hospice House in Ottumwa. His body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Charles Luers officiating. The family will be present one hour before the service. Inurnment will be in Goldfield, Iowa at a later date.
Surviving are a sister, Virginia (Richard) Steele of Ottumwa; a brother, Dale (Carol) Muntz of Farmington; a half sister, Dorothy Muntz of Farmington; six nieces, three nephews, six great-nieces and five great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marilyn Owens.
He was born Nov. 22, 1940, in Clarion, Iowa, to Sidney Joseph and Bertha Lillian Brady Stocker.
He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He then was a resident of Cedar Rapids for the past 30 years, working at Wilson's Meatpacking for nine years and then 18 years as an over-the-road flatbed driver, retiring in 2007 from S.S. Xpress Trucking. He received a million miles safe driving award. He loved to bowl, trap shoot and attend softball and baseball games.
