Farmer, Nathan J.
Nathan J. Farmer, 35, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Grafton, Ill. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hills Community Church by the Rev. Kent Landhuis. A visitation will be held at Cedar Hills Community Church from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday. Interment: Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
Nathan is survived by his daughters, Kristina, and Kyleigh; son, Kyle; parents, James Farmer of Shellsburg, and Patti Roman of Cedar Rapids; sister, Andrea (Jeff) Slaymaker of Cedar Rapids; significant other, Jill Floyd of Cedar Rapids; niece, Maegan Slaymaker; nephew, Kaleb Slaymaker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Mildred Farmer and Kenneth and Phoebe Payne; an uncle, Dwight Farmer; cousin, Holly Johnson; and his stepfather, Steven Roman.
Nate was born March 4, 1976, in Manchester. He was an electrician with the IBEW Local No. 405. He was a proud father who enjoyed living life to the fullest. Nate had great friends that he loved spending time with, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and playing music. As an amazing guitar player, he shared his talents with many people. He was carefree and easy going. He was a big Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboy fan and loved NASCAR racing but family was most important to him. He will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund will be established for his children c/o James Farmer, 415 Grove St. NW, Shellsburg, IA 52332.
