Zaruba, Cleora 'Peg'
Funeral services for Cleora “Peg” Zaruba, 84, of Tipton, who died on Monday, March 21, 2011, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. Paul Frederiksen officiating. Burial will follow in Shawver Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of service Friday morning. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established to the Volunteer Services of Cedar County for the new van fund.

Peg was born on August 17, 1926, in Inland Township, near Bennett, Iowa, to Irwin and Mabel Bundy Kramer. She was united in marriage to Donald F. Zaruba on June 24, 1950, in Olin, Iowa. Peg was an excellent cook and worked at the Highlander Inn, Solon Schools, Solon Senior Center and a fraternity house in Iowa City. Her cinnamon rolls and kolaches were her specialties. She was a past member of the Solon Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the Tipton Senior Dining Center.
Peg is survived by her sons, Steve Zaruba of Guttenberg, and Scott (Maryann) Zaruba of Annapolis, Md.; grandsons, Fritz and Tucker; sisters, Darlene Elgin of Tipton, and Mae Eriksen of Moscow, Iowa; brother-in-law, Don Hansen of Moscow; and sister-in-law, Carmen Brown of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don on Feb. 1, 2007; sister, Evelyn Hansen; and brother, Irwin “Bud” Kramer.
