Krumm, Donald M.
Donald M. Krumm, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion. Services: 1 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after noon Sunday. The Rev. Carroll Brown will officiate. Private interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his daughters, Rene Klosterman and Vicki (Leon) Mehring, both of Cedar Rapids, and Denise (Chris) Ingalls of West Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Teri Krumm of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Olivia and Dane Mehring, Cade, Sela and Saryn Ingalls and Morgan Krumm; special cousin, Paul Brace; his brother, Fred Krumm of Hiawatha; and two sisters, Beverly Carnahan and Betty Kesler, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrna; his son, Randy; and sister, Bonnie Meis.
Don was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, to Fred and Jessie Krumm. He married Myrna Mollenhauer on May 23, 1958, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She died in 2005. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of the University of Iowa. He was an insurance underwriter for United Fire and Casualty for many years.
Don enjoyed his hobbies of building and flying remote control planes, painting and traveling throughout the world with his wife, Myrna.
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice.
A special thank you to St. Luke's Hospice staff, especially, Dr. Bell, Mary Anne, Bruce and Holly for their care and compassion for Don and his family.
