Accident kills two people, injures three near Monona

MONONA - Two people are dead and three others are injured after a two car accident in Allamakee County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened just after 10:30 Saturday night along County Road X26 just north on Monona.
Authorities say Bill Moose, 23, of Mount Hope, Wisconsin, was driving a northbound vehicle when he lost control of the car on a curve, crossed the center line a struck a southbound SUV.
Moose and a passenger, Loreena Zehrung, 27, also of Mount Hope, WI, were both killed in the accident. A third passenger Terry Moose, 23, of Monona, was injured and taken Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
The driver of the second vehicle, Arno Schlitter, 78, and a passenger Josephine Schlitter, 69, both of Luana, were taken to Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.
The Iowa State Patrol says roads were 100% ice covered at the time of the accident.
