Adkins, Jessica Sue
Jessica Sue Adkins, 24, of Fishers, Ind., passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
She was born July 7, 1988, to Pete and Laura (Bensinger) Adkins in Des Moines, Iowa. Jessica graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School in 2006 and went on to graduate in 2011 from Indiana University in Bloomington, receiving a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies. She worked as a Social Worker at the Indianapolis branch of Public Allies, a national non-profit organization that focuses on youth leadership programs.
Jessica was a typical 24-year-old on track to building her own life. She was full of life, a good person, very intelligent, and saw caring for others as her calling. Caring for people was her passion, and it was her desire to help people, especially the disadvantaged. She wasn't concerned about money. It was her belief that everybody was an equal person regardless of financial status and deserved to be treated as human beings just as much as another person.
She is survived by her mother, Laura Adkins of Fishers, Ind.; her father and stepmother, Pete and Cindy Adkins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon Sunday, July 29, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd., in Noblesville, Ind., with Charlie Hoover, assistant principal of Hamilton Southeastern High School, officiating. Visitation will be before the service from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to one of her three favorite causes: Planned Parenthood, Damien Center of Indianapolis, or Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
Online condolences can be given at www.randallroberts.com.
