Letter: Parade organizers seek band participation

Regarding the March 31 letter 'Parade should include high school bands”:

A marching band entry fee of $50 was mentioned in the letter. There is no entry fee for high school marching bands and/or honor guards who wish to participate in the annual SaPaDaPaSo St. Patrick's day parade in downtown Cedar Rapids.

SaPaDaPaSo waives the entry fee for high school bands and calls all of the area schools in January to encourage participation. We do what we can, but ultimately it's up to the individual schools and organizations. We'd love to see more high school marching band participation as well.
