Ronald L. Baburek, 65, of Marion, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Mastain of Iowa City; a brother, David of Marion; a nephew, David Jr.; three nieces, Dawn, Ginger and Jennifer; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron was born Oct. 5, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leo and Kathryne Severson Baburek. He worked in the automotive business for more than 47 years, the last 24 years at Barron Motor Supply.
Ron liked fishing, was an avid reader and just really enjoyed life. He and his brother, Dave, as well as Dave's family enjoyed many good times together. Ron was always very helpful and willing to lend a hand to his family and friends.
Ron's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
