Wagner, Max L.
Max L. Wagner, 87, a resident of Living Center West, died there Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, after a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, where there also will be military rites. The Rev. David Beckman will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where there will be a vigil service at 4 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta; a daughter, Renee (Dave) Siders of Washington, Mo.; a sister, Marie Westfall of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Jeff, Matt (Kaye) and Dan (Christie); and four great-grandchildren, Max, Brady, Owen and Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew.
Max was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Center Point, the son of Kenneth and Arda (Bardoner) Wagner. He married Alberta F. Morales on Dec. 6, 1945, in Troy, Kan. Max was the owner and operator of Max Wagner Roofing, Siding and Windows for over 50 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a faithful member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, the VFW and proudly served in the Navy during World War II.
Max and Alberta both enjoyed camping, traveling and especially the time spent with their beloved family and many friends.
Max was a wonderful and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
