Behel, Leona L.
Leona L. Behel, 87, of 317 Second Ave. SW, Worthington, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 11:25 p.m. at her home in Worthington, surrounded by her family. Friends and relatives of Leona may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Services for Leona will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington, with the Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.
She is survived by one son, Leslie Behel of New Vienna; two daughters, Melodie (Dave) White of Worthington and Bonnie (Norman) Imes of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Carl) Neiers of Guttenberg and Carol Cigrand of Cascade; one sister-in-law, Grace Cigrand of Cascade; and one brother-in-law, Francis “Skip” Manternach of Cascade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rawson Behel on May 18, 1982; two sisters, Betty Manternach and Virginia Gross; one brother, Robert E. Cigrand; her father- and mother-in-law, Joe and Zura (Rawson) Behel; and two brothers-in-law, Leo J. Gross and Martin J. Behel.
A Leona L. Behel Mmemorial Fund has been established.
