Myers, Lois Marie
Lois Marie Myers, 82, of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, died there Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, 1221 First Ave. SW, by the Rev. Jonathan Offt. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Karon (Bill) Ireland of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters, Dawn (Bryan) Griffith, Sheri (Todd) Howe and Tracy (Eric) Spray; two brothers, Glenn (Betty) Kurth of Lisbon and Garold (Wanita) Kurth of Loveland, Colo.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; husband, Raymond; and a son, Walter “Bud” Myers.
Lois was born Dec. 18, 1926, to Walter and Marie Kurth in Monticello. She married Raymond Myers on Nov. 17, 1946, in Stanwood. He died in 1989. She was a dress buyer for Armstrongs for over 35 years before retiring. Lois was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, especially Lois' nurses for the wonderful loving care she was given.
