Hebert, Carol Jean

Carol Jean Hebert, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa (Ken) Butler of Cedar Rapids; two stepchildren, John Hebert and Cindy (Mike) Jacobs of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her mother-in-law, Larinda Hebert of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Muriel Strub of Dixon, Ill.; her brother-in-law, Michael (Joanne) Hebert of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Gloria (Dean) Gray of Dennison; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jerry and Michael; two sisters, Donna Johnson and Gloria Strub; and three brothers, Marvin, Lloyd and Arden Strub.

Carol was born Aug. 11, 1936, the daughter of Edgar and Frances (Wesner) Strub, in Dixon, Ill. She married Wendell Hebert on Aug. 10, 1974. He died in 2009.

Carol was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed the outings and spending time with family.
