Schladetzky, Geraldine M.
Geraldine M. Schladetzky, 94, of Olin, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, rural Anamosa.
Geraldine Mae Ireland was born May 12, 1916, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Lee and Addie (Beebe) Ireland. She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1934. She married John Schladetzky on May 26, 1938, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He died Sept. 10, 1973. She taught country school in Jones and Linn counties.
She was a member of the Olin Community United Methodist Church and the Hazel Green Homemakers Club and enjoyed playing cards, reading and sewing.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Web) Temple of Jacksonville, Ala.,
and Geralyn (Chuck) Hansen of Anamosa; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Jacobs of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one sister, and a great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be given to Camp Courageous.
