Hotle, Nellie M.
Nellie M. Hotle, 94, a resident of the Winslow House in Marion, died at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids on Monday, March 14, 2011. Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Thursday, March 17, First Baptist Church in Marion by the Rev. Randy Bobzien. Family will greet friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include a son, William “Bill” (Janice) Hotle; two granddaughters, Kathy (Kevin) Moe and Terry (Robert) Nielson; three stepgrandchildren, Beth McKeehan, Mindy Galloway and Joel Hora; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; four stepgreat-grandsons; two stepgreat-granddaughters; and many loving nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Gailord Hicks; and sisters, Nadine Kimm and Mildred Hicks.
Nellie was born on Sept. 16, 1916, in Eldon, Mo., the daughter of Perry and Dora (Wood) Hicks. On Feb. 20, 1935, Nellie was united in marriage to Stanley “Doc” Hotle in Sigourney, Iowa. He died July 29, 1982. Nellie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion, Past Worthy Matron – Marion Chapter O.E.S., PEO Chapter HJ, Lorraine Circle O.E.S, A.B.W.M. and Tops #554.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1260 29th St., Marion, IA 52302, for handicap accessible facilities.
