Vi Zenisek, 101, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
Vi is survived by her son, Tom (Connie) Zenisek of Hiawatha; daughter, Shir-Lee Miskimen; son-in-law, Jerry Langfitt, both of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Kelli (Justin) Salow, Kimm (Jeff) Unkrich, Kristy (Greg) McCusker, Kurt Miskimen and Todd (Laura) Miskimen; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-randchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Dennis; daughter, Karen Langfitt; granddaughter, Deliese Stone; and brother, Albert Stransky.
Viola Lydia was born April 26, 1915, in Solon, the daughter of Adolph and Lydia Riddle Stransky. She graduated from Solon High School. On June 25, 1935, Vi married John Robert Zenisek at St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon. Vi worked as a professional seamstress all of her life.
Vi enjoyed traveling, dancing with her beloved husband, John, and spending time with her friends and family.
