Kimm, Brent J.
Brent J. Kimm, 44, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, from injuries incurred in an automobile accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The family will greet friends after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kimm Children Educational Fund c/o University of Iowa Community Credit Union, 2525 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City, IA 52240.
Brent was born Sept. 22, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Derald Kimm and Theresa Schulte Kimm. Brent was a 1988 graduate of Norway High School and received his degree in political science from the University of Iowa. On Sept. 24, 1994, Brent married Heather Fahey in Peoria, Ill.
Brent was a project manager for many years at NCS/Pearson and Vangent.
Brent was a loving husband and the “best dad.” He was patient, diligent and cared for others. Brent enjoyed golfing, playing tennis and was a Hawkeye fan. Most important was his family. He will be greatly missed.
Brent is survived by his wife and best friend, Heather; their three children, Fischer, Lily and Spencer; his parents, Theresa Kimm and Derald (Jan) Kimm; his siblings, Amy (John) Ciesniewski, Barry (Susan) Kimm and Todd Kimm; his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Darling; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, extended family and friends.
Brent was preceded in death by his grandparents, and father-in-law Dennis Fahey.
