Krenz, Marcia
Marcia Krenz, 38, of West Branch, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a short illness. To honor her memory, there will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial will follow at the West Branch Cemetery.
Marcia, daughter of Sarah (Bails-Krenz) Menzer and Ken Krenz, was born Oct. 23, 1972, in Iowa City, Iowa. She attended school in Iowa City and later graduated from high school in Wentzville, Mo., in 1991. Marcia worked for McDonalds for 14 years before moving back to Iowa in 2008.
Marcia loved all kinds of music, watching game shows and playing Bingo.
Marcia is survived by two brothers, Lonnie Krenz of West Branch and Kevin Krenz of Palm Harbor, Fla.; three sisters, Kayla (John) Cress of Iowa City, Leslie (Gerry) Brick of West Branch and Sonya (Jason) Madden of Iowa City; best friend, cousin and confidant, Stephanie Bails of North Liberty; five nieces, Abigail, Elyse, Lindsey, Jayme and Kenadi; four nephews, Cody, Andrew, Joseph and Keylon; two great-nieces, Olivia and Emma; and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sarah and Kenny; and grandparents, LeRoy and Elinor Krenz and John and Barbara Bails.
Marcia was a kind and kindred spirit who will be deeply missed by those who knew her and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
