Twaddle, Dean H.
Dean H. Twaddle, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Marjorie; his five children, Michael (Mary) Twaddle of Forney, Texas, James (Connie) Twaddle of Owatonna, Minn., Mark (Adriane) Twaddle of Marshfield, Mo., Jeffrey (Sue) Twaddle of Joshua Tree, Calif., and Janet (Stuart) Carpenter of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
Dean was born June 28, 1921, in Macomb, Ill., the son of Perry and Ethel (Clark) Twaddle. He married Marjorie Albertson on Jan. 23, 1943. Dean was sales manager for Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy, Ill., and Ames, Iowa. He then transferred to Honeggers Co. in Ames. In 1961, he moved to Marion and worked for Supersweet Feeds. Dean retired in 1988 from Vigortone Feeds, where he was district sales manager for 18 years.
Dean dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Indian Creek Country Club. Dean enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching the Cubs, visiting with people and playing Joker with friends.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dean's memory.
