Ruby Tuesday closes NE Cedar Rapids restaurant after 5 years

A Ruby Tuesday restaurant that opened next to Lindale Mall in 2006 has been closed.
The restaurant at 217 Collins Road NE was closed this week, according to Rick Johnson, a corporate spokesman. He said the restaurant's lease was expiring, and sales did not justify extending the lease in view of economic conditions.
Employees were offered opportunities in other restaurants in the area based on their qualifications and the opportunities available, Johnson said. Ruby Tuesday operates another restaurant in Cedar Rapids at 2215 Edgewood Road SW.
