On Oct. 28, 2015, we lost Deann Lee Sandry after she fought a long illness.
Deann was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Oct 5, 1952. After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1978, Deann moved to Minnesota to attend Hamline University School of Law, graduating in 1986. In 1989, she moved to Arizona where she soon became a prosecutor for the attorney general's office. In 1991, Deann moved to Yuma, Ariz., to work for the Yuma County attorney's office as a prosecutor in the criminal division, drug enforcement. After 23 years of dedicated service, Deann retired in 2015.
Deann was a wonderful violinist who played with the Yuma Orchestra. She also was an accomplished quilter receiving many awards for her amazing work and a devoted Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeye fan. She also had a great love for her Harley and the open road.
Deann is survived by her father, Floyd Doty and family; her brothers, Dean Doty and family and Dann Doty and family; and her three children, Scott Sandry, Eric Sandry and family, and Stephanie Matusic and family.
Deann was a very accomplished woman and will be deeply missed. We love you!
