Here are the finalists for this week's KCRG-TV9 Athlete of the Week.
Blake Johnson
Starmont
Basketball
Blake is a 6-foot-5 senior on the Stars basketball team. He's averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks per game for the season. In their 60-59 win over Ed-Co last Friday he scored 30 points and grabbed 20 rebounds. The game before against East Buchanan, he scored 31 points and pulled down 10 boards.
Starmont is just 5-7, but have won three in a row, and four of their last five.
Courteney McCrary
Cedar Rapids Prairie
Basketball
Courtney is a 5-foot-8 junior on the Prairie Hawk girls' team. She is averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists per game. Teammates call her Courteney ‘McClutch.' Against City High she made two free throws with one second left to win 45-44. Then last Friday against eight-ranked Xavier she hit a 10-foot jumper with two seconds left to give the Hawks a 42-40 win. She's shooting 56 percent from the field, and 85 percent from the free throw line. Prairie is 10-3 and ranked ninth in Class 4A, and riding a seven-game winning streak.
Casey Rohret (RARE-et)

Wrestling
Casey is ranked fifth at 195 pounds in Class 2A. He has been a perfect undefeated 27-0 so far this year. Casy got his 100
Last year he did not make it to state, as he finished third in a tough district where the firstand secondplace finishers both finished first and second at state as well.
Last weekend he won the Solon Spartan Invitational, winning the championship match, 16-7, over West Branch's Cade Jones who is ranked fourth. His nomination ballot says he's only been taken down once all year. It also says he is a very big eater.
