Public must understand what ‘for profit’ means

What part of the words 'for profit” does the public not understand?
When you turn health care of 600,000 poor and disabled Iowans over to 'for profit” insurance companies, how do you think they are going to make their profit? By denying care, of course. The more care they deny, the more money they make. This is a perfectly reasonable business decision. But is this the way Iowans want to treat the most vulnerable of our citizens?
Just the fact that UnitedHealthcare litigated three cases over 18 months to avoid paying for three wheelchairs shows you all you need to know about its business model.
At some point I hope the public realizes that privatization is not always better.
