Stoffel, Germaine Agatha (Heiderscheit)

Germaine Agatha (Heiderscheit) Stoffel, 87, of Guttenberg, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Guttenberg, and one hour before services Thursday at the church.

She was born the daughter of the Joseph and Catherine (Klein) Heiderscheit on Dec. 30, 1922, on the family farm near Richardsville, Iowa. On Feb. 10, 1942, she was united in marriage with Merlin Stoffel at St. Joseph's Church in Richardsville. Germaine farmed with family for many years. She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Bill) Wilson of Strawberry Point, Carol (Vince) Meyer of Osterdock and Cathy (Lennie) Beck of Garnavillo; six sons, Jim (Vicki) Stoffel of Norwalk, Bob (Micki) Stoffel of Cedar Rapids, Pete (Betty) Stoffel of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Sherri) Stoffel of Clayton Center, Paul Stoffel of Aurora and Ron (Rena) Stoffel of Postville; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Francis (Mildred) Heiderscheit of Dubuque and Dan (Doris) Heiderscheit of Denver, Colo.
