Mary Reams, 70, of Marion, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long battle with cancer.
Mary was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Pekin, Ill., to Ray and Hazel Gillmore. She grew up in Yates City, Ill. She married Paul Reams on Nov. 7, 1964, in Yates City, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Surviving are her husband, Paul of Marion; sons, David of Minneapolis and Michael of Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren, Echo Reams of Cedar Falls, and Chris and Cassie Reams of Minneapolis; and two sisters, Bernice Clark of Canton, Ill., and Martha (Allen) Skelton of Benton, Ill.
Mary graduated from Yates City High School, attended Illinois State University and received her bachelor's degree from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. Mary was an accounting manager at AEGON/ Transamerica and retired in 2006.
Mary enjoyed gardening and sewing and found satisfaction in several community volunteer projects.

A visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Paula Meyer will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
