Condemn Marine who posted video
The Gazette Opinion Staff

There has been a lot of rhetoric regarding the Marines urinating upon dead bodies of Taliban fighters. I do not condone this; however, those dead guys were likely trying to kill those same Marines a short time earlier. Bad things happen in wars. As a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, I know of worse things.
In my opinion, the guiltiest one was whoever put the video of this event on the Internet, thereby forcing high-ranking officials to make public statements and likely those guys will be hung out to dry. It would have been better if it could have been handled by their own commanding officer.
To anyone who has their knickers in a twist because of this, remember the German death camps, Bataan Death March and Vietnam tiger cages, to name a few. Our young soldiers have faced things that most of those in a snit have never and likely never face, thanks to those guys.
I am proud of every member of our armed forces. And, from an old Navy man to all Marines - Semper Fi, warriors!
