Malcolm Lyle Emrich, 76, of Tipton, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at First United Church of Christ, Tipton. The Rev. David
Lorenzen will officiate. Burial and military honors will follow in Woodbridge Cemetery, Buchanan, Iowa. A time of visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his memory.

Lyle was born Dec. 24, 1938, in Buchanan, Iowa, the son of Marion Clifton Emrich and Antoinette Stepanek Emrich. Lyle graduated from Tipton High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Lyle was united in marriage to Janice Elaine Anderson on Oct. 29, 1961, in Tipton. They later divorced. He later married Gwendolyn Leaf, who died July 15, 2013.
Lyle was a farmer and a machinist. He was a member of the American Legion, Farm Bureau and First United Church of Christ in Tipton.
Lyle is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kim Emrich of Vinton; grandchildren, Brandon (Kaitlin), Allison and Cole; great-grandson, Jack Emrich; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Ron Petersen of Minneapolis; brother, Ronald Emrich of Mechanicsville; sister-in-law, Betty Emrich of Tipton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teri, in 1984; his parents; his wife, Gwendolyn; his brothers, Melvin Douglas Emrich, William Russell Emrich, Horace A. Emrich and Clifton Emrich Jr.; and sisters, Nicki Brown and Gladys Harden.
