Don’t deny access to legal medical services

On Nov. 6, we need more activism in our political body that doesn't lean left or to the right. We should be electing individuals who are in the middle and represent the people.

Case in point: The current representative for Iowa House District 69 has stated the medical marijuana bill was worked on by both sides and is a bipartisan issue. That is great. That's how politicians should work.

However, why is this same representative, who says people needing other medical services should not be denied, OK with denying felons access to medication (medical marijuana) that has the potential to ease pain, nausea and many other symptoms? That prohibition is written into Iowa's current medical marijuana law.

We have made great strides in Iowa on medical marijuana, adding more diseases and illnesses to the approved treatment list, including PTSD. We do not, as a society, have a right to deny legal medical help. Remember that come election.

People not running under a political party or as a Libertarian are more for Iowa. November will be here soon; let's get out and vote.
