Arrest made in Iowa City gun shot incident

Kevin L. Perry, a 22-year-old Iowa City man facing charges of attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and control of a firearm by a felon entered a written plea of not guilty on Friday, Iowa Court Records indicate.
Police reports indicated that Perry threatened to kill two individuals that he was arguing with and then pointed a gun at them, firing one shot. No one was injured, but all involved parties fled the scene. An officer on patrol in an unmarked vehicle observed the shot take place 1958C Broadway Street in Iowa City, Iowa City Police said.
Perry has since been held at the Johnson County Jail on a $217,500 bond. His trial has been scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on July 18.
Attempted murder is a class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Intimidation with a dangerous weapon is a class C felony punishable by 10 years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine and possession of a firearm by a felon is a class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum $7,500 fine.
