Stewart, Floy
Floy Stewart, 93, died May 4, 2011, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 East Sixth St.) in Vinton, with Pastor Zach Zajicek officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Floy Della Turner was born to William and Gustava (Dickerson) Turner at Emberton, Ky., on Nov. 24, 1917. She married Don Stewart on Nov. 4, 1950, at Naco, Mexico.
Floy is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Del) Pfranger of San Angelo, Texas and Cindy Moody of Vinton; her five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Wilma Spencer of Vinton and Marjory Moore of Show Low, Ariz.; and her brother, William (Eva) Turner of Grants Pass, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; three sisters and two brothers.
