Aspinall, James P.
James P. Aspinall, 64, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital following a sudden illness. Per his wishes he was cremated. Memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10:30 a.m., with a visitation beginning an hour before, at St. Pius X in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Wayne Ressler officiating.
James Patrick Aspinall was born Sept. 8, 1949, to James Joseph and Burnita Gaffney Aspinall in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was united in marriage to Marsha Kruckenberg on Oct. 12, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha for 20 years. Jim worked for the Abbe Center as a family therapist in the Vinton, Anamosa and Belle Plaine locations. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha; sons, Aaron and Jacob Aspinall, both of Cedar Rapids; father, Jim (Elizabeth) Aspinall of New Port Ritchey, Fla.; siblings, Mary Jo (Bruce) Gardner of California, Julie (Jerry) Pluss and Art (Sara Mellen) Aspinall, both of Denver, Colo., and Jean (Mark) Clayton of Holy Oak, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Burnita.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice.
