Outback Bowl Highlights: No. 17 Florida 30, Iowa 3

The Florida Gators handed the Iowa Hawkeyes their fifth straight bowl loss Monday with a 30-3 victory in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla. Here's an updates rewind.

C.J. Beathard's third interception of the game results in another Florida field goal.

Eddy Pineiro blasts one from 48 yards to make this a 27-point game.

9:46 4th: Florida 27, Iowa 3

Another Chauncey Gardner INT. But not quite another Chauncey Gardner pick-six.

This time Gardner returned C.J. Beathard's 30-yard pass to the Iowa 7, but the Gators couldn't punch it in.

Eddy Pineiro tacked on a 25-yard field goal.

14:44 4th: Florida 24, Iowa 3

That feels like the game.

C.J. Beathard's third down-pass was a little behind Riley McCarron. It went through his hands, Chauncey Gardner picked it and took it 58 yards for a score.

You can see on the runback that Beathard is far from 100 percent as he tries to chase down Gardner. He paid the price on that hit near the goal line in the first half.

0:48 3rd: Florida 17, Iowa 3

An Austin Appleby TD pass to De'Andre Goolsby was wiped out by a penalty, but no matter, the two connected again a couple minutes later on third and goal.

The 6-yard touchdown puts the Gators up two scores.

IOWA MISSED FIELD GOAL

The Hawkeyes let their running backs go to work on an 11-play, 63-yard drive, with LeShun Daniels and Akrum Wadley gaining all but 11 of those yards.

But Iowa has no points to show for its best drive of the game as Keith Duncan misses a 30-yard field goal wide right with 7:35 left in the third.

Iowa's offense looked inept and Florida returned a punt into Hawkeye territory, but a Nathan Bazata sack on third down prevented a long field-goal attempt

That's a killer for Iowa.

Florida is the first team to find the end zone, and with time ticking away in the first half, no less.

IOWA STOPPED AT THE GOAL LINE

Quarterback C.J. Beathard made an outstanding effort on a scramble on third down, but was popped on the goal line.

Then LeShun Daniels was stuffed on fourth down, and Florida takes over on downs with the game still tied and 7:41 left in the half.

First-half yards: Florida 83, Iowa 43. Iowa with 5 passing yards. Gators with 6 carries for 10 yards, Iowa with 10 for 38.

The Gators respond with a field goal of their own.

Eddy Pineiro's 44-yard kick ties the game at 3. UF went 49 yards on that drive after just 15 combined on its first two.

8:56 1st: Iowa 3, Florida 0

The Hawkeyes are on the board.

Keith Duncan's 36-yard field goal is true, but still, Iowa gets just three points off two Florida turnovers to begin the game.

Two Florida possessions, two tips, two picks.

Iowa defensive end Parker Hesse got a hand on Austin Appleby's pass and Desmond King somehow came up with it at Florida's 27 while falling to the ground.

BRANDON SNYDER INT

Iowa's defense comes up with a takeaway on Florida's first possession.

Joshua Jackson, who is starting in place of Manny Rugamba, who was starting in place of Greg Mabin, tipped an Austin Appleby pass and Brandon Snyder dove to pick it off early in the first quarter.

But the Hawkeye offense couldn't take advantage, going three and out.
