Letter: Rod Blum leading by example

I want to thank Congressman Rod Blum for leading by example and returning over $100,000 from his office's budget to help pay down the national debt.

Lots of politicians talk about cutting spending and paying down our national debt, but Congressman Blum is doing it. If all federal officials were as prudent with our tax dollars we'd have a balanced budget in no time.

With our country over $19 trillion in debt, we need to get serious about reining in our federal government's out of control spending, otherwise our children and grandchildren will pay the price. We need more elected officials like Congressman Blum who are willing to be true stewards of our taxpayer dollars so we can finally get our fiscal house in order.
