Gerard, Josephine 'Jo'

Josephine “Jo” Gerard, 90, of Marengo, died Monday evening, August 16, 2010, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, with Rev. Doug Morton officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Gerard (Janet) of Marengo and Jerry “Jake” Gerard (Mary) of Belle Plaine; four daughters, Judy Everett of Newhall, Vicki Foubert of Marengo, Susie Dutton (Wilson) of Hornbeak, Tenn., and Rosi Disterhoft (James) of Marengo; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Louie Bostian (Lucille) of Shreveport, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laurel John Gerard in 2006; a brother, Sam Bostian; a sister, Norma Guglielmetti; and two sisters who died in childhood, Louise and Helen Bostian.
