Williams, Dorothy E.

Dorothy E. Williams, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William Harnish. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her daughters, Sonya Williams of Cedar Rapids and Lisa Williams of Lisbon; a son, Jeffrey Williams of Lebanon, Tenn.; four grandchildren; brothers, Allen Ulferts of Cedar Rapids, Rudy Ulferts of Marshalltown, George Ulferts of Central City, Ernie Ulferts of Sioux City, Harold Ulferts of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Richard Dahl of Cedar Rapids; and sisters, Janice Townsend of Cedar Rapids, Carol Baker of Tipton and Marilee Dinc of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Dorothy was born April 22, 1937, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Barlow) Dahl. She worked as a nurse's aide for St. Luke's and was a volunteer swimming instructor for the American Red Cross.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother; stepfather, Louis Ulferts; and brothers, Lyle David and Kenneth Dahl.
