Pauline LaRue (Allen) Combs, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center. Graveside services (open to the public) will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating.

Pauline was born June 12, 1927, in Tama County, Iowa, to Donald W. and Florence (Pennell) Hines. Following her education in Toledo, Pauline was married to DeLoss D. Allen on Jan. 26, 1945. The couple lived in Belle Plaine, where they raised their three children. Following the passing of DeLoss, Pauline married Dale Combs on June 6, 1973. She worked as a CNA at Marengo Hospital for many years.
Pauline's interests were sewing, playing cards, traveling, bird watching and being with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, David Allen and Richard (Margo) Allen, both of Belle Plaine; six grandchildren, Jamie Botts, Ashley Allen, Chris Hunter, Mary DeWulf, David Long and Kim Harmes; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, DeLoss Allen and Dale Combs; sister, Bernice Nieman; brother-in-law, Frank Nieman; nephew, Leo Nieman; daughter, Delores Harman; and great-grandson Brandon DeWulf.
